The Best Pizza on St. John, USVI

The best pizza on St. John, USVI is Johnny Lime — our opinion. Just look at this pie in the photo below. Perfection. Perfectly melted cheese, with just the right amount of tomato sauce, and the crust is just right.

The man behind the pizza at Johnny Limes is Chef Miguel. This Venezuela-born, Miami-raised culinary graduate of Johnson & Wales University has perfected his craft at restaurants across Washington DC, Charleston, and Miami, and an Italian farm-to-table restaurant on Nantucket. He’s learned how to make the best pizza in his travels through Italy, New Zealand, and Bulgaria.

Johnny Lime’s menu includes cheese ($20) and a pepperoni ($23) pizzas, both built with Grande mozzarella, Stanislaus tomatoes, local basil, parmesan, and brown butter garlic oil. The pepperoni uses cup and char style. The pizza there isn't trying to be everything; it's just made really, really well. There’s a lot more on the menu besides pizza too, with the overarching theme being Caribbean BBQ, with freshly smoked meats that includes jerk chicken, pulled pork, pork ribs, and beef shank.

The handcrafted cocktail list is built on fresh-squeezed juices and premium spirits, like the Danger (scotch bonnet-infused tequila with fresh watermelon) and the TamTam (dark rum, tamarind, lemon) — Island favorites!

Why Good Pizza Is Hard To Find On St. John

That's not to say other St. John pizza restaurants aren’t good (we’ll talk about more options in a minute), but this is a reflection of the reality of how hard it is to source fresh pizza ingredients on St. John. Every Virgin Island chef knows the limitation: more than 98 percent of the USVI's food supply is imported, arriving by barge and truck from the mainland. That means flour, mozzarella, olive oil, cured meats, and fresh produce all have to cross big open water before reaching the island’s kitchens. Bad weather can delay shipments and fresh meats and veggies can spoil in transit. Growing all of the ingredients right here on St. John is limited too, because of the rocky soils (the same ones that ironically make St. John so beautiful).

What that means for any restaurant making the best pizza on St. John is that they face these hidden daily challenges. The places that have managed to make tasty pizza here on St. John have absolutely earned it. The five additional spots below represent the best pizza that St. John has to offer.

Lovango Rum Bar

Located in downtown Cruz Bay, Lovango can best be described as a rooftop pizzeria & bar, known for great views of the harbor, craft cocktails, and its signature Neapolitan-style wood-fired pizzas. Some of their recent Google reviews note the “good pizza and meatballs” and “great sunset view from the deck”, according to Ian L.. It’s not just the best pizza either — “Lovango Rum Bar had the best Espresso Martini and the best bartender on the island!”, said Scott P.. Also noted was their island-grown kale makes the Caesar salads a great find, and the daily live music there is worth catching.

A few pizzas to consider:

  • Pirates Pepperoni Pizza ($28+); made with red sauce, basil, Parmigiana, red pepper, pepperoni, sopressata, and mozzarella.

  • Margherita pizza ($28+); made with red sauce, e.v.o.o, buffalo mozzarella, Roma tomotoes, and basil.

  • Mayo BBQ Chicken ($28+); made with BBQ chicken, red onions, mozzarella, Gorgonzola, and basil.

And of course you can build your own, with different bases (white, truffle, red).

Ronnie’s Pizza

Located in Cruz Bay — St. John, Ronnie’s Pizza is considered one of the best places to get pizza on island. The feel here is classic pizza parlor — with its burgundy red curtains and dark wood top tables — with matching sides like: onion rings, fries, mozzarella sticks. Pizzas include: classic, four veggie, meat lover’s, Neapolitan, Tex-Mex, supreme, pesto, Hawaiian, white, and three-cheese — with pricing ranging from $17-$25. Online reviews note how walkable this pizzeria is from the Westin or Great Cruz Bay area, and most recently how amazing their peanut butter pie is.

Their menu for 2026 includes specialty pies like crab rangoon, pulled pork, BBQ chicken, and the Zombie Pie (a guest favorite featuring ranch cream sauce, pepperoni, spinach, bacon, tomatoes, garlic and Parmesan.

Café Roma

Café Roma has been voted “Best Italian Cuisine” in the US Virgin Islands for 11 years running. Dishes arrive on white plates over black tablecloths, silverware resting on burgundy cloth napkins, ceiling fans spinning overhead in a cozy white-walled diner.

Some of their signature pizzas (priced from $20-$31+) include: Hawaiian Honeymoon (ham and pineapple), Hot Roni (a pepperoni pizza with hot honey), Magens Meat Lover (Spicy Italian sausage, ham, pepperoni, meatballs), Frank Bay Veggie Pie (mushroom, onion, roasted red pepper, spinach), The Honey Badger (Italian sausage, pepperoni, black olives, roasted garlic and hot honey), Salt Pond Supreme (pepperoni, green pepper, sausage, onion, black olives), and a White Pizza.

“The best pizza I’ve ever had in my entire life,” Brittany C. posted as a Google review.

Dazey's Bayhouse

Located in Coral Bay, St. John (on the east side of St. John), Dazey’s offers some of the best pizza on the other side of the island from Cruz Bay (on the west side). If you like pizza served with that wood-fired effect, like it’s just been pulled from 900 °F heat to give it that delicious leopard-spot charred crispy crust and smoky aroma, this is the place to go.

Just two weeks ago, David B. posted this five-star Google review: “Went here for a couple of drinks and pizza after a day of hiking. We had the pepperoni pizza which was awesome!” Free parking was also noted. Worth knowing: Pizza is not a regular, daily offering at Dazey’s, so it’s best to call ahead or follow them on Instagram for when pizza is being served.

Jeremey S. drives this point home with his review, posted only two months ago:
“LITTERALY the best coffee on St John is , AMAZINGLY, in Coral Bay! Chalk one up for the good guys....Don't miss the daily pastries, the Almond Croissant is better than sex.”
