Lovango is located just off St. John and is accessible only by boat. This private island retreat is known for elevated waterfront dining, its turquoise anchorages, and imbuing guests with a sense of boutique island luxury.
Most of our charter guests want to stop here for a relaxed lunch or cocktails before continuing their day on the water. Our charter boat captains handle reservations for you, so by the time we pull up to Lovango by boat there will be nothing to distract you from the experience of being at one of the most exclusive, relaxed, and chic places in the Virgin Islands.
For many, having that first lunch experience at Lovango makes it a place they want to come back to for a longer stay.

There are three ways to enjoy Lovango Resort & Beach Club:
1. Stop During a Private Charter (Popular with our guests)
Visit Lovango by a private charter boat for lunch or cocktails at The Sandpit before continuing your trip exploring the Virgin Islands by water. For many charter guests, stopping for lunch is the perfect way to see if they’d like to return for a full Beach Club day or overnight stay.
2. Purchase a Beach Club Day Pass
Guests who purchase a Beach Club day pass can enjoy:

3. Stay Overnight in a Treetop Glamping Tent

Lunch is served at The Sandpit, a Lovango restaurant that offers a luxury experience in a casual way. The menu features fresh seafood, salads, sandwiches, and Caribbean-inspired dishes. perfect for a mid-day break from the sun and sea.
Pricing is similar to other upscale waterfront restaurants in the USVI, where salads are around $20–$22, entrées range from $40-$65 (the higher end for Caribbean lobster). For those seeking luxury in the Caribbean, The Sandpit embodies it with its private paradise atmosphere and chef-prepared meals. Every dish is made with high quality ingredients that are sourced locally, where possible.
Island Roots Charters Co-owner Jill Siska shares:
“It's actually one of our favorite places to stop for a drink or a bite when we are doing some personal pleasure boating with friends or family. I like it because the food is a bit more elevated, it has a nice spacious shaded area to eat at and the waterfront views are breezy and beautiful.”
While there are full amenities, it’s worth noting that the bathroom is unisex / all gender. There are individual stalls for privacy, but a shared trough sink that everyone uses.
Shop or Play Games While You Wait For Lunch
There are some cute shops to browse through and games to play (bags and kids-sized chess board) nearby while you wait for lunch. Or, if you just want to chill and sip on a cocktail while lunch is prepared, that’s fine too. It is a perfect spot for those looking to experience a bougie Caribbean vibe.

Snorkeling
There is great snorkeling at Lovango, conveniently right off the shoreline. The water is calm and clear, which makes it easy to see tons of marine life.
Guests frequently report seeing teems of colorful fish and even sharks — mostly harmless nurses — cruising along the reef. Snorkelers have also spotted the large king crabs that tend to tuck themselves into rocky crevices.
Views from the Treetop Glamping Tents

The views from the resort’s Treetop Glamping Tents are unforgettable. From here, you can see all the way down over Crescent Moon Beach, where the turquoise Caribbean waters curve along the shoreline. Just offshore is Congo Cay, which can be viewed across the bay.
The View from the Pool

The infinity-edge pool offers one of the best vantage points on the island. From your lounger, you can gaze out over the water and spot the tops of the beachside cabanas just beyond the pool deck.
The view is expansive, yet intimately surrounded by green hills, brilliant blue water, and island-style cabanas blending naturally into the landscape.
Please note: Pool loungers and cabanas are available to guests who purchase a Beach Club day pass or who are staying overnight at the resort.
Island Roots Charters guests typically only visit Lovango for lunch or cocktails as part of their customized charter day.
If you fall in love with the setting (and many do), you can always return another day to experience the Beach Club in full.
Poolside Drinks & Relaxed Luxury

Poolside drinks are part of the Lovango experience, as guests relax in the lounge chairs. As per fine dining standards, wait staff are warm and welcoming, and the service is attentive without being a distraction from the experience.
That “private island” vibe truly sets in right here.
Lovango’s Gym In The Jungle
New for 2026, the resort has introduced a Jungle Gym (see a photo from their Insta) where guests can bring out their “best Fred Flintstone.” This is because the workout equipment is made mostly from wood and natural materials: “wooden dumbbells and barbells, wooden Olympic lift stations, weighted sandbags on bamboo bars, benches, wooden deadlift cages, log lifts.”

Coral Restoration Efforts
