History of the Soggy Dollar Bar Name

Long ago, sailors would anchor offshore and have to swim their way to shore in order to indulge in the many adult libations offered at the sleepy beach bar… hence the name “Soggy Dollar.” Nowadays, it’s one of the most popular day trip destinations in the BVI and most charter boats are able to back close in to the beach so that your dollars won’t get soggy at all. Don’t worry, they take credit cards too!

Famed for its’ creative Caribbean concoction of orange juice, pineapple juice, cream of coconut, dark rum and fresh nutmeg, drinking a “Painkiller” at the Soggy Dollar Bar is sure to cure you of any temporary ailments while sitting with your toes in the sand. Feeling hungry after a couple of cocktails, try their authentic Chicken Roti. A delicious “down-island” specialty of seasoned curry chicken, potatoes and chick peas wrapped in a homemade “skin.” If you ask us, it’s one of the best Roti’s in the British Virgin Islands!
